BiSS Research
A single source solution for mechanical property evaluation, structural testing and R&D support.
Â
Â
Â
• Metals, composites, elastomers, built-up structures • Strength, stiffness, fatigue and fracture, fretting, elevated temperature, cryogenic, thermo-mechanical fatigue, simulation of service data, damping properties. • Automotive engineering, railways, nuclear and thermal power, research and manufacturing
• Material characterization, quality check, product developments, reverse engineering, etc..
Â
Measurements A variety of force and displacement measurement transducers are employed on test systems. Acceleration and temperature measurements are imposed where ever required. All transducers are subject to annual calibration and traceable to national standards.

Reliability 24 x 7 operations supported with 5 kW UPS and 160 kW genset for all controls & hardware in the lab. Integrity of the test process is assured with secured network. Lab is powered with distributed hydraulic pressure lines ensuring redundancy in the unlikely event of pump failure.
Â
Test Quality State-of-the-Art 24-bit resolution hybrid electronics and 32-bit digital servo control ensure excellent reproducibility of prescribed test conditions. Adaptive control techniques are employed for precision cyclic loading under both constant as well as variable-amplitude loading. Concurrent Rainflow cycle-counting applications continuously track and document quality of individual cyclic tests.
Â
Documentation Tested and proven application software for standard test practices ensure test process and results documentation in electronic format as well as hard copy.
