BiSS 2370 Series 32-bit controllers are built around the latest that the electronics industry has to offer in terms of analog, digital and hybrid ICs. The entire 2370 family of controllers is powered by a single unified firmware and system software along with modular GDS application software. With this common foundation, these controllers offer a wide choice of cost effective solutions in real-time digital control of servo-driven mechanical test systems including hydraulic, electric screw, electromagnetic and pneumatic drives. These solutions are available for a wide variety of applications, ranging from retrofit of aging test systems, through enhanced laboratory automation and onto multi-channel structural test systems as well as motion control systems including 6DOF shake tables.
The 2370 Series controllers represent a common platform for single channel, multi-channel and multi-station configurations. Three model configurations are presently available. These are the MTL32SA Standalone system, MTL32SS single-station solution, and MTL32MS multi-station solution.
The 2370SS and 2370MS controllers require a separate host computer, a PC running MS-Windows. All operations including system set up, calibration and tuning are performed from this computer. All application software is also run from this computer. In case of the 2370SA, the entire control system is integrated into a single compact enclosure, complete with a large color touch screen interface through which the operator can perform practically all operations related to the test system.
A unique feature of the 2370 Series systems is the GDS environment. The GDS environment effectively converts the control system into an application server, permitting the connection of additional networked MS-Windows terminals, each with its own keyboard and mouse and Windows desktop.  GDS applications running in the above configuration share a common virtual machine on the server. As data and functionality are not duplicated, unprecedented levels of real-time performance may be achieved at lowest cost, given the affordability of network terminals.
